Today we completed our lamb "tasks". They have all had their CDT vaccines, they have been tagged and wormed. Some are now over 8 weeks and we will be weaning the flock on May 10th. They are all looking good. They are healthy and happy and living the life!! How do they grow up so fast? We still have 10 ram lambs and 5 ewe lambs available.!

Our grandsons Isaac and Ezra visited the farm this weekend. They were a huge help with chores and making sure the lambs got lots of love. So much fun !!!!
Shearing Day! All our adult sheep got their annual hair cut today. Our trusty shearer Jeff Burchstead did a fantastic job. Thank you so much for your expertise and patience. Thank you to our invaluable volunteer helpers today Tom Linder and Aaron Haley. It was so much easier with your capable hands. I now have lots and lots of beautiful soft fleece to play with!
Wow, some our little charges are already 4 weeks old. The ones that are received their first CDT vaccinations today. Time is flying. They sure don't stay small forever.
2016 Lambing season came to a conclusion with the delivery of twin ram lambs from our ewe Mini Me. These boys are 7/8 Finn 1/8 Romney. Beautiful little guys! Our final lamb count is 16 ram lambs and 14 ewe lambs! I will be posting lambs for sale in the coming days but for now we are content to watch them grow and play. Happy Spring !

Boost Unavailable Well here at Sweet Clover Farm we haven't exactly been twiddling our thumbs. Yesterday (March 16th) we had 3 ewes deliver between 8am and 11am. Two sets of triplets and a quad set. This was a first. Tara had two rams and a ewe. Sade had a set of quadruplet ram lambs, and Karina had two ewes and a ram lamb. Her ram lamb did not make it after much effort on our part. Sadly he just wasn't meant for this world. To say the least in the flurry of events pictures were not taken. But we are happy to report that Moms and babies are all well! Only one ewe left to deliver and we may close the curtain on lambing season and get some sleep !!
Seems every year there is one that needs extra help. This little ewe one of the quadruplets was found yesterday at 24hrs old 1/2 frozen and not well. We whisked her into the house, did the hot water/woodstove warmup and got her back. She continued not to thrive so we kept her inside last night giving her everything we had. This morning we went visiting to my Mom's. My Mom is 90yrs old and this little one made her day! You can just see the joy on Mom's face. At 1 1/2 days old she is spreading warmth and love to everyone!!!
Busy day, 12 hrs after Kiki's triplets Evian delivered a set of beautiful white quadruplets! She had 3 ewes and one ram lamb. All are healthy, eating and loving the world so far. She is a fantastic Mom. So that puts the farm up 7 lambs today and the day is not done. We have 4 more ewes to go, I am thinking that in 3-4 days we will be able to get some sleep!
